Review | Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette

by - Thursday, February 02, 2017

I was supposed to include this palette in my best products of 2016 but I just got it more recently compared to the other products I featured so I thought it would be fair to just make a separate review. Before I gave in and finally purchased the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, I've been lusting over it so badly for so long and it was always sold out everywhere which made me want it even more (srsly the thirst is real). I don't think I even have to explain because just look at it, those colors are so gorgeous 😍
 Color Selection

I am a fan of warm and neutral shades and I just prefer it over cool tones because I find them easier to work with my skin. The colors in this eyeshadow palette are so nicely selected and perfect for warm shade lovers like myself. It has a total of 14 shades with a mix of browns, oranges, and berry colors that are quite popular in the beauty community right now. According to the ABH website, there are 11 matte shades and 3 metallic shades. What I love about the color selection is that it comes with a lot of matte shades which is great because it's so wearable while the other three shimmer shades are so gorgeous and flattering that you can achieve a clean and sophisticated eye look using it all over the lid without looking too flashy.

Quality and Pigmentation

The beautiful mix of warm shades is what initially caught my eye but let's talk about how well this product performs. The quality of the shadows is unreal and nothing I've ever tried before. I'm not really a pro when it comes to eyeshadow but boy does the quality of this palette make it so much easier. The shadows blend so beautifully and are so buttery that you get an absolutely gorgeous color pay off on the eyes. It is so pigmented that you get a full opaque color at one swipe. This eyeshadow palette is great for beginners because you don't have to struggle with blending. You can even use just two shadows if you're in a rush and you're good to go because it's so easy to use them. All the colors look so beautiful blended together and there isn't one color that is disappointing, the pigmentation and quality is consistent with all colors as well.

Price and availability

Since I was so desperate, I bought mine at Beautylish , an international online store similar to Sephora. I got it for $42 + taxes. If you usually buy online, I'd recommend Beautylish for brands that are hard to get or unavailable in the Philippines. My package surprisingly arrived soon too, it took 7 days for it to arrive and they ship it directly to your address. The downside is, since this palette is so sought after by many, it is always out of stock! But recently I've been seeing a lot more online local makeup sellers in instagram that have this but if you've been eyeing this palette for a while now and have saved enough money, I suggest that you go and buy now before it's out of stock again because trust me it is so worth it. I suggest just purchasing from a local instagram makeup seller. The price is usually around Php2,800 plus shipping fee depending on the seller.
Below are some ig sellers I found that carry this palette (click to open link):
